![]() |
What are Rainbows?Rainbows are the youngest section of the Girl guiding movement. Young girls can join us from the age of 5 until 7, when they usually move onto Brownies. We currently have fifteen members, one Unit Guider, one Assistant Guider, one Unit Helper and two Young Leaders. What do we do?We meet in the Garden Rooms every Thursday evening (5.30pm to 6.30pm) during term time. |
Our meetings are based around the colours of the Rainbow as follows:
| Red | : | Rainbows are ready to help |
| Orange | : | Rainbows enjoy making things |
| Yellow | : | Rainbows enjoy playing games |
| Green | : | Rainbows enjoy exploring and discovering |
| Blue | : | Rainbows enjoy helping at home |
| Indigo | : | Rainbows enjoy listening and moving |
| Violet | : | Rainbows are knowing and growing |
| White | : | This represents our Promise, "I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful." Each Rainbow says her promise at her enrolment. |
Whilst we may not cover every colour every meeting we try to fulfil a varied programme each term. Our programme for a term would typically involve international meetings, visits from outside organisations, crafts, charity work, music nights, stories and plenty of games.
We also look after one of the planters at the rear of the Church which we have called "Jane's Garden" after our much missed Guider - Jane Ashley.
Most of all we like the girls, whilst learning to be kind and helpful to enjoy being a R A I N B O W.
