All Saints' and Salutation Ladies Fellowship

Introduction

Meetings are usually held on the fourth Tuesday of the month in the Millennium Centre, Ravensdale Road at 7:30pm. We meet to promote fellowship among the ladies of the church and the wider community.

Meetings are informal - a talk or demonstration, a cup of tea or coffee and the opportunity to chat to friends and make new contacts. All this for £5 membership fee (due in September) and £2 each meeting attended. With this money, we hire the room, pay the speaker and fund the refreshments. This year we have not given anything to other organisations but our speakers have all donated their fees to a charity close to their hearts.

This year we said goodbye to Guttenberg, saw flowers arranged for Christmas, had carols with the choir and learnt about Whitby jet. At the end of the AGM we had "A walk in the South Park" with Chris Lloyd.

We enjoyed watching some energetic young people from Stagecoach perform and Kathryn Slaughter showed us how to embroider creatively. We had a strawberry and cream evening and our members gave us some ideas for the future. Finally sixteen members went to the Blacksmiths Arms at Newton Aycliffe for an evening meal.

This coming season we have another interesting programme. Why not come and join us? You can get more details from Enid Atkinson, Chairperson on 01325 464267, or Jean Thurkettle, Secretary on 01325 465901.
