Hand Bell Ringing at All Saints'
The hand bell ringers meet each Thursday at 8pm in church. If you would like to come along and have a try at bell ringing, please do. No musical knowledge is required and you will be made very welcome.
One of the aims of the group is to raise funds for charity by ringing the hand bells in hotels, pubs, clubs and shopping centres over the weeks leading up to Christmas. We are pleased to say that we raised £1000 for The Great North Air Ambulance at the end of 2002.
In the 2003 Christmas period, the hand bell ringers raised a total of £2461. A cheque was presented to Mr Brian Cave, Fund Raising Manager of the Air Ambulance Service by The Rev'd John Dobson on Thursday 22nd January.
We would like to formally thank everyone who came along to rattle tins and buckets, especially Imogen Hopkins who despite her age, puts her heart and soul into helping us. This picture was drawn by Imogen which captures the spirit of the Air Ambulance Service. The original picture is posted on the Notice Board in the Foyer.
